Information Sessions, Tech-Talks, Guest Lectures, and Student Organization Presentations

Information Sessions allow employers to present information on opportunities with and background on their organization to students in an intimate setting. Time for informal networking after the presentation is typically allowed.

Fall 2012 Information Sessions

• Complete the online form with your preferred dates and times for your information session
  Registration Form
• Wait for your confirmation from the Career Center before reserving a venue.
• Reserve a venue for your session.
• Inform the Career Center of your venue confirmation.

Tech-talks and guest lectures are a great addition or alternative to the standard info session. Contact Kirsten Shaw to discuss your options.

eFlyers and Plasma Ads

Advertise Your Engineering-related Event on Pratt's Plasma Screens! There are currently six plasma screens in the school of engineering. Four are located in the Fitzpatrick Center (two in the pre-function area of Schiciano Auditorium and two in Twinnies Cafe) and there is one screen each in the entrances of Hudson Hall and Teer Building. If you would like to design your own ad, it must be in a 1280x768 gif, png or jpg format with a resolution of 72 dpi. Please email your ad to koshaw@duke.edu for posting and allow 4 business days for your custom advertisement to post on the display.

TechConnect and Career Fairs

The two-part event, hosted by Duke's Pratt School of Engineering, the Department of Computer Science, and the Career Center, consists of a moderated panel discussion from technology industry leaders, including a question and answer period for students to inquire about tips and techniques for searching, interviewing and choosing a job. Following the panel discussion, there is a networking reception.

Career & Summer Opportunities Fair

Employer representatives (some of whom may be Duke alumni) from many sectors, including business, technology, education, government, and non-profit, will be participating. If you're a Duke University student looking for a summer internships or full-time employment, you're invited to attend. Be sure to bring your resume! By participating in the fair, your organization will gain exposure to graduate and undergraduate students across all majors.

Sr Capstone Design & Competitions

Senior projects focus on the synthesis and application of the basic science, mathematics, engineering and design skills taught in earlier courses. Called ‘Capstone’ courses, these culminating design classes give students a rigorously challenging, real-world, immersive engineering experience. If your organization is interested in running a competition (coding, product, design,) please contact our office for more information on how to sponsor one of these exciting courses or host a competition!
